So i purchased a GG polisher with the wolfgang TSR and FG combo with lc ccs orange white blue pads, i decided to try it on my car tonight and the results weren't what i had expected, before the door had super fine buffer trails and some hazing in spots due to a previous detailer, i went over the hazing with the orange pad and TSR 4.5 - 5 moderate pressure, i was impressed as most of the hazing was gone, i then followed up with the white pad and the FG to get rid of buffer trails on speed 3.5 letting the weight of the buffer do most of the work,when i buffed off the polish the results werent what i was expecting.
I was still seeing swirls and what looks like trails from my own results, any ideas? Should i go over it with a blue pad + FG? What am i doing wrong, any tips ? Is this fixable?

I don't have that much experience with the products you're using but it seems that you may have to use the swirl remover with the orange pad to get rid of the trails. If not then go more aggressive and "back out" like you did previously. Hopefully some more members will give you feedback, but this is what I would do. Best of luck.

First speed was way to slow to take any of that out you need speed 5-6 with light pressure and make about 4-6 passes. Do a 2x2 section at a time. Use the FG400 if thats what you have and you should always do least aggressive first.

i only used the orange pad on a 1x1 section of the door, what speed should i be using the white pad on, and what should i do to correct the paint at this point.

My guess would be that the WG TSR isn't aggressive enough for your application. Try Meg's 105 / 205 combo!

I always run on speed 5 or 6. Did you mark the backing plate to ensure it is spinning? If it's not then you aren't doing any work. I would bet it's your technique rather than product.

3-4 small drops of product to start then usually 2-3 and 1 inch per second. I usually have head phone in and go off the music beat to keep me consistent. Don't be scared of speed on the machine.

If you have a scale that will go down to 9 pounds (analog or food scale) put your machine on it and see how little 9 to 14 pounds is with the weight of the machine.

TSR isn't aggressive enough to remove these swirls, it's a good product when used for light defects.
You can try making a few more passes with slower arm speed.
If you like WG then try their Über compound, great cut and finishes down really well, then follow up with FG, that combo is really good:)

You don't have to use the most aggressive pad when using the Über.

Ill pick up some uber with my next purchase, however I think the tsr is agressive enough Im probably just not using it right.

TSR will eventually work but you will be putting WAY too much time in! I've used it before and it is more than likely not aggressive enough for the correction your trying to accomplish!

Use the orange pad as mentioned and get that polisher up to 6.

You could also take a trip to the local parts store and pick up meguiars ultimate compound. Bit more cut and finishes out really well.

You need more mechanical cutting power for sure, run that machine up there to 6 and put a more aggressive pad on there. You can get rid of swirls with a finishing polish, but do you need to work a panel for 4 days to get there?
