How do you stop the amount of email you get from the forum? Once a day it seems 8 messages come in all at once.

There's a setting in the User CP you can adjust.

Click on User CP
Click on Edit Options

See what you have under

Default Thread Subscription Mode

It sounds like it's set to "Daily E-mail Notification"

You have to unsubscribe either right after you post (which I always forget to do) or as they arrive in your inbox.

If you're still getting e-mail notices for any threads click on the link you get and at the top of the page you'll see a text link that reads,

Thread Tools

Click on this and select the option to Unsubscribe.

I'm not very good at building things out of wood, I'm better with a sledge hammer than a finishing hammer.

I did write this a couple of years ago, sometimes it comes in handy...

Discussion Forums - A relatively "new" invention... (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/how-make-money-detailing-cars/24038-discussion-forums-relatively-new-invention.html)

The above article simply points out to many and reminds older people that this interface I'm typing in and you're reading hasn't been around very long.

Kind of like how in the beginning of my how-to book (http://www.autogeek.net/how-to-create-a-show-car-shine-book.html) I first documented paint history to provide the necessary background information people need to know so they understand WHY they need head knowledge to work on modern car paint.

And that primarily has to do with the fact that modern factory clearcoat paints are,

Thin
Hard
Easily scratched

Once a person really understands this then they understand why it's so important to always be aware of how they or anyone touches their car's paint.

I explain why in this article and of course in my how-to book in all it's formats...

Holograms & scratches put into your car by someone else should be a crime (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/ask-expert-featuring-mike-phillips/73222-holograms-scratches-put-into-your-car-someone-else-should-crime.html)

But I digress....
