Well, looks like getting a PC will be put off for a looong time, as i"m in dire need of a new lawn tractor mower (know any good ones cheap?).
So, I will ask...I could afford a cheapo polisher, should I even consider or keep doing it by hand? I quite a few cars line dup to detail (for free) and was thinking that $30 Wal Mart one looks inviting.
I knwo already, don't bother.
Any mod price dones out there that would make my life easier?

Why not look for your lawn tractor at Lowes, and order a PC7336 at the same time. They always offer 12 months free financing over 299.99. So you will have a PC and the tractor, and 12 months to pay. Might be a plan ...

the big reason why you don't want to use the cheap polishers (well, 2 actually) is that the motors in them don't spin up to a high enough speed, and they don't have the ability to attach quality pads. without spinning up to thousands of orbits per minute, no work is going to get done. The cheap polishers don't spin up to this speed, so they arent really effective at removing defects. as for the pad thing, they make you put on bonnets which aren't of the greatest of quality (readd= induces swirling) and they clog up with product entirely too quickly.

If you want a machine to help you apply a liquid LSP, they're fine, but for anything else, i'd look into saving some $$$ and getting a quality machine.

Yeah, I'll bide my time. Hope I don't get Popeye arms!
I actually tired the Lowe's credit yesterday on a Husqvarna (damn nice mower!) and was approved for a whopping $300. I ende dup going home with a new weed trimmer though since I was so p.o.'ed. Damn student loans!
