This is another referral from the previous work I did on the 2003 Tiburon. This vehicle was a challenge and I’m very pleased with the results and the owner liked the results too and that’s all that maters to me that the customer is satisfied. The customer was more interested on the interior then the exterior so I concentrated more on the interior.

2003 Acura 1.7EL

Exterior Process

Wash:
I used Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo with two bucket method and the white ShMITT.

Clay:
The vehicle was in rough shape so I used Red Clay Magic, the vehicle was covered with small dots of what I’m guessing white fence paint. The Clay Magic made quick work of it though, I like this clay, has a really good bite. After I clayed the vehicle I had to wash it again because of all the contaiments.

Polish:
Menzerna 106FF – Metabo – Menzerna Orange Pad – 1500rpm = Like I said the customer was not to interested on the exterior to much so I just went with this combo to remove some of the scratches/swirls. The paint needed some work, a wool pad and a Compound would have finished it nicely….maybe next time.

Glaze:
Pinnacle XMT Carnauba Finishg Glaze, applied by hand and removed my hand.

Wax:
1 – coat of Souveran Paste.

Tire dressing/wheel wells:
For the tires and the wheel wells I used Meguiars Hot shine Tire Spray.

Exterior plastic peaces/trim:
I used Mothers Back to Black.

Glass:
Stoners with glass Cobra MF

Engine bay:
Used a degreaser found locally 1:1 and dressed with Meguiars Hot shine Tire Spray.

Interior Process:

Vinyl and rubber:
I used Meguiars #40, but prior to it I gave the entire vehicle a nice wipe down with Meg’s APC mixed with water 1:1.

Carpet:
Meguirs APC used it on the carpet and seats as well 10:1 ratio again. I scrubbed with a brush then extracted it with my shop-vac. I did this for the entire vehicle because it needed it.

Now for pictures:

Well that's it no more pictures.

Overal, really good challenge for me but nothing that a little patiance and lots of elbow power couldn't fix. I picked up a few trick for the interior.

Enjoy...oh and feedback is always welcome.

I posted a bit prematurely.

Excellent work! Great job on the engine bay and one nasty interior.
What's the new interior trick you picked up?

great job there my friend! that interior was a dump and you made it shine again. PO106 did a good job on that car

can I ask how much did you charge? and how long did it took you to do the whole car?

Sevenrd - No worries buddy and thank you for the compliment. I was pleased with the results but to be honest it's really easy to see results when it was so dirty. The interior trick, well not sure if it's a trick but just something I just tried out. I had a bunch of brushes to do the interior with but after using using them all and scrubbing like there was no tomorrow I then just used a damp rag and it worked okay...like I said not much of a "trick" just something that I didn't bother to try first hahahaha. But the only way I was able to remove good knows what was in the vehicle was by scrubbing.

klumzypinoy - Thanks buddy, yup it's just like a Civic just has the Acura logo on it ;)

pirex - Oh I liked the color, it was to bad I couldn't do any major corrections to the paint but 106FF made it look great...some correction but I would have liked to do more to it.

devst8 - 106FF was great, it removed majority of the hazing that was on the vehicle and most importantly the clay I used left some micromarring and it removed those too. I also used 106FF on the head lights and made them look good too, I found that interesting. How long did it take me, well I started on Saturday and worked on it for about 10hrs this was all interior, engine, rims, washed, clayed then washed again. Sunday I spend 5hrs on finishing it off...so about 15hrs all together.

Thanks supercharged, the vehicle is only available in Canada (acording to one of my co-workers that owns the same vehicle). It's a Civic but Acura just put there Logo on it, there are other differences but to me it's a Civic and it's odd how it's only available in Canada.

Awesome work, Carlos! That was one nasty interior! Couple sections of the carpet looked wet and muddy! Great work cleaning it up and making it look great!
You and PO106FF did great work on that exterior too. Love the way it looked and the reflections with ALL those garage lights! :D
