View Full Version : Newbie. How to get rid of small buffing scratches

I hit the makita with a wool pad and M105

i finished with a black 3M polishing pad with M205

There are still small scatches almost like spider web.

So...

I then when over it with a polishing pad a on PC with Wolfgang Deep gloss Glaze and still nothing

PLEASE HELP me:buffing:Feed back please

It sounds like you may need to use a finishing polish, and/or buff the product on the paint longer. There was another thread with the exact same topic and this is what Mike suggested from what I remember.

What this video from about 8:30 until he uses the rotary and then uses a DA to remove micro marring and scratches left from the rotary and compound.

It's hard to tell without seeing it in person or pictures btw.

When you say spider webs does it look like the paint is cracking?

Is the "spider webbing" swirls or scratches that weren't fully removed when compounding?

spider webs. Looks like the swirls, but very small.

I went over it with a Flex 3401 HD VRG. Same bad and same product.

AND BAMMMMM

came right out. As you can see im super excited.

If its just buffing caused, light scratches, I use Turtle Wax scratch and swirl remover because it's only about $5 and works as well as other pricier products. Not a big deal to fix.
