So I did a new Cadillac a few weeks for a customer of mine. He called me last night, saying he had scratched his black interior trim by his shifter. He asked if there is anything I can put on it to help prevent it from scratching so easily.
I here complaints about this pretty often on customers wood grain and black trim (think its acrylic) anyways its very very soft and scratches/ marrs very easily. So I was thinking about trying opti coat 2.0 on it to see if would help at all being a actual layer of clear coat.
Has anyone tried 2.0 on interior pieces or can recommend something else to try?
My gf has this black trim in her Cruze diesel, so today im going to tape off, polish it then apply some 2.0 to see how it holds up.

Heres a picture I took off the net to show you what im talking about. Around the shifter, climate control and radio control area. Even in this picture it looks kind of marred.

Also thinking about trying this on the Chevy volts exterior trim, I polished two last week and both customers complain about how easily the black trim scratches. You can see its right below the windows then around to the trunk hatch. On the first gen volts the entire roof is made of this, they changed it for 2013 and started painting them(took this pic off the net)

Cadillac cts-v is another one. Common problem and huge annoyance among owners. I thought of Opti-Coat ing them but rather went with vinyl wrapping instead. Sub'd to hear others' responses.

The owners caddilac is V. Amazing cars. The vinyl wrapping is a good idea. I'll mention that to him as a option. Thanks!
