Friend of mine just painted his 86 GN at his own shop with the Standox paint system. Not that it matters, but thought I would throw that in because the car looks amazing. It has 3 layers of clear on it. Car has already been cut and buffed and has no swirls or trails. He asked for a recommendation on a sealant and Nuba for the GN. Wanted some suggestions or input from AGO members. I was thinking black light topped with Pete's or DP Max wax? BL is awesome on black and Pete's and DP are both great waxes. What do you guys think?

That's an awesome car!! How long does that paint need to gas before being coated?

That's an awesome car, one of the few performance cars from the 80s that was actually fast.

Not sure, car was painted about a month ago. I would assume 90 days, like most fresh paint jobs.

Yep and it only took about 1500-2000 grand and you were running in the 11's

why not consider a coating ??

Thought about it, but I don't like coatings for weekend/seasonal show cars. There is nothing like pulling out a black beauty like this on a nice Sunday and putting a fresh coat of nuba on it.

Ok, so any suggestions for a sealant and nuba? CG BL and Pete's or DP? Any other combo's really sweet for black?

I have mostly meguiar's products and could recommend ultimate wax, M21 and M26. M21 and M26 are a good combo. I also have the klasse twins. I tried a test spot on my silver car and with klasse and M26 and I could not tell a difference so I just stuck with 2 coats of klasse.

Thanx, I have them too. Maybe BFWD and BMS or Black ICE?

CG butter wax is a cheap wax that doesn't last very long. However, it will make that paint drip. If it's a show car and you wanna wax it before hand you need to pick some up!

The Blackfire combo would be great. I also have had good results with MaxWax.

the 80's were not a great time for automobiles in america, but the grand national is one of the exceptions in both looks and performance. this one in particular looks great.

i hope this beast will be stored indoors?
