Volkswagon Touareg Freshen Up.

This Touareg is a 59,000 mile car that was due for a interior detail a freshening up of the paint and some winter protection. Overall the car wasn’t in all that bad of shape considering it’s used to haul horse supplies and the family dog which is a good sized dog. It had your typical swirls, scratches and tar.

With the wheels all cleaned up its time to turn my attention to the motor. I like to do the motor complete prior to washing so that any motor dressing that gets on the outer panels, front fenders or windshield will be washed off with the washing step.

Nice job! Curious to know how you went about cleaning the engine? Brushes and degreaser or light pressure washing?

Thanks, I used a combination of all three. The Daytona brushes work well for things other than wheels.

Thanks, Too long, I had it two days and didn't charge nearly enough when you break it down by hours spent. But I just do it as a hobby so its ok, just pocket money to feed my habit.

Simple really, just spray on some APC and steam it with a MF towel covering the steam head. In the hard to reach areas you just have to spray, steam and wipe. I used OPC for the door panels. As always do a test spot. Some leather especially on older cars the leather may have bee re-dyed and the steam can take it right off. Knowing the cars history can keep you out of trouble.

My father in Chicago has a Touareg, a 2005 he bought brand new.

Two weeks later, he told me he took the SUV grocery shopping, probably didn't have 50 miles on the Odo, when some rotten basturd, for whatever sick reason, took a key to it.

And like me, he said he parked a block out from the supermarket, in a remote parking spot.

His is in Silver, I'm sure it's a stunning vehicle, and since I never seen it, or even pics, I cannot state what key damage was sone, whether buffing, or Dr Colorchip could come to the rescue?

Sucks, that I'm taking care of my 81 year old mother here with cancer, while my 82 year old father wastes away all alone 1200 miles away in that turdhole of a cesspool, known as Chicago.

Anyway, back on topic, that work you did really turned this vehicle around, from a soccer mom daily driver, to a showroom new look!
