Here's a $700 LED flashlight:
Lowel GL-1 Power LED G1-10 B&H Photo Video (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/937205-REG/lowel_g1_10_gl_1_power_led_kit.html)

OK, in fairness, it's on sale for $600:dunno:.

Feel free to add other outrageously priced stuff.

Speaking of outrageously priced flashlights, i spent ~$400 on my most expensive flashlight. I have many different flashlights. Compared to the other folks on Candlepowerforums, that's not too bad either! It's a Surefire C2 LED Defender modified to fit a 18650 li-ion battery, several different bezels including a GGG crenelated bezel to bash an offenders face if needed, ultra clear lens, drop-in light assembly with three 90+ CRI (color rendition index, the best kind) CREE XM-L LEDs in a pure copper housing for maximum heat transfer (best heat conductor besides diamond and silver), high amperage switch, AW high discharge batteries, and Pila charger.

It's all relative. Find someone with a clean, but not 'autogeek clean' car. You know, they wash it, but it has swirls, faded plastic, faded tires. Tell them what you spend on car care! LOL.

You nailed it. A lot of people will consider a $300 watch or $100 sunglasses extravagant, whereas others wouldn't even have that on their radar since it's too low-end.

The frame alone on my mountain bike new costs $2400 (although I bought it used for $600) which freaks most people out, but that's what I'm into so for me it's not "outrageously priced".

That's really a large variable as everyone is different and has different opinions on what expensive may be. Also people have different opinions on how they spend their money and what they will spend it on.

Seen a lot of people with $50K + cars that won't spend the money to maintain it, but will drop $10K on a watch without even thinking about it.

Since "The Good Wife" has the propensity to inform me...quite often...that I'm:
"Full-Of-It" (I don't have a clue where she gets that from). And:

With that being the case:
I'd find that the below appliance would be most accommodating... as well as comforting...
if not for the exorbitant, outrageous retail price-point of: $5,980.00!!!

Would a toilet that's 'loaded' with an automatic lid opener, automatic flush,
automatic air purifier, and heated seat be worth that cost?
Can't say for sure without test-runs.

However...I have noticed:
She's been working a lot of overtime lately;
and Christmas is not far away.

Bob, we have it in our house (in three of our bathrooms, in fact) and, while I don't know if it commands that much of a premium, it is nice. My family are residential builders so our price point is less than the general public.

I will say: in the middle of the night it is nice to sit on something heated, rather than ice-cold. I'm in Texas, so I can only imagine winters in Ohio.

Hey, the opening and closing is really gimmicky, but it is all people talk about after they see it.
