Is this right? I dont think they gave me the right backing plate or is the gap suppose to be that big?

I ordered this.. CCS Spot Buffs 4 Inch Foam Pad Kit (http://www.autogeek.net/spot-buff-kit.html)

And got this backing plate? Is this correct? Thanks

It looks like you got a 3" plate. You can use it, but the 3.5" works much better with 4" pads IMO.

That is the 2 3/4" plate speced with the kit. IMO 3 1/2' plate is the way to go. The plate you have is perfect for 3" pads. Add a 3 1/2' plate and you are covered.

Gotcha, idk why they would sell a 3" plate with a 4" pad. Makes no sense what so ever. Wouldn't have bought it if I realized that

Probably because the kit is meant to be "universal" for DA and rotary. That plate can be adapted for a DA, but a DA plate can't easily be adapted for a rotary.
