Blackfire crystal sealant on Collinite 845?

Hi everyone,

This is my first post on the forum even though I have been following the topics for awhile.

I have 2004 Black Honda civic. I have Mequiars ultimate polish and plan to get Collinite 845 and Blackfire sealant.

My plan is to wash, clay with Mother's clay kit then 1 coat polish then 2 or 3 coats of Collinite.

Can I apply blackfire sealant on top as a final layer? anyone tried that?

Agreed, if you are going to use both, use the Crystal Seal first then wait at least 12 hours to apply the 845. I don't see any need to apply 2-3 coats of 845 unless you are just trying to make sure you catch any missed spots.

My recommendation, assuming you are prepping for winter, would be to use Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection (blue CCS pad), let it cure for 12 hours, then a coat or 2 of 845 (red CCS pad). For the summer, go with WDAFPP, let cure 12 hours, then 2 coats of Crystal Seal 3 hours apart. Re-apply the CS after 90 days. That will get you to your next winter detail.

I agree.....CS rocks for winter protection. Can be re-applyed on a nice day or in the garage after a wash if you want to.
