I swapped my 6" plate on GG to a lake country 5", handles the 5.5" pads very well. I have a Rupes for my 6" pads.

It's not recommended to use 6.5 inch pads with the PC because of its lack of power.
5 inch backing plate with 5.5 inch pads is a good combo.
Any suggestions on one that will work well with the PC.

You have a few choices here. (http://www.autogeek.net/dual-action-backing-plates.html) You might get better recommendations based on what pads you are planning on using. Not sure if it makes a difference but is it the PC7424 or the PC7424XP?
I use a 5" backing plate and 5.5" on my PC. Much better than the larger plate and pads.
I am using the 7424xp with orange, white and grey pads

Chemical Guys sells a couple that will fit, just screw on.
I bought one and find it to be very good.
Have one for my PC and GG6

I went from the 6 inch plate and 7 soft buff pads inch pads that came with my G110v2 to a 5 inch plate and 5.5 hydro tech pads. Felt like I bolted a supercharger....

What I want is a 5 inch plate for the Flex 3401 so I can use my 5.5" pads. I feel like the 4 3/8 plate is too small for 5.5 pads which of course, I have a ton of.

I have emailed Lake Country asking for a 5" plate to be used with the interchangeable system. That way we could have a 4, 5, and 6" plate.
Just maybe if there is enough demand we may get one...

A standard Flex 3401 plate is easily cut to 5" size on a metal cutting lathe. A local machine shop charged me $10.00 and the job took less than 15 minutes. The actual cutting took about 2 minutes most of the time was jigging it to the lathe.

I took mine to a machine shop and had them sand down the backing plate.
It took two minutes and they charged me $5.

I also had a 50' cord put on it. No more extension cords. Had Safe Way Equipment Rental do it. They charged $21. I supplied the cord.
