This weeks project is a 2005 Ford F-150 Lariat w/ 51k miles. The truck belongs to a long time family friend, that we don't see very often anymore. I knew it was going to be pretty messy inside, and upon him dropping it off yesterday that was confirmed. So here are a few pictures of it. I only worked on it for about 2 hours yesterday, and will probably spend 1 or 2 on it tonight.

That is turrable! How can someone be so neglectful of their vehicle? Especially one as expensive as an F150 Lariat!

Great job on bringing it back thusfar, waiting to see final results.

That red stain is very suspcious...i once knew someone that worked in the accident clean-up company. A man committed suicide inside the car, blew his brains out. No one wanted the car so the company seized it, and the employee who was making $12.00/hr bought the car for $5,000. He now drives a 2011 Acura RL. lol.. Red spots are still there in some spots, is what i'm trying to say here.. :)

Awesome job so far. I still don't understand how people let their vehicles get that bad. I wonder what their homes look like...
Look at that steering wheel!

You're really putting your new Bissel LGM to work! haha seems like it has easily paid for itself in the first few days of owning it.

Looking forward to the finished results.

Yeah the LGM is is really getting quite the workout this week.

I am not sure what the red stain is, but he has owned this vehicle since brand new so it has to be something one of the grandkids spilled on the floor. I am going to finish up the rest of the back carpet tonight and sweep the front out probably. If it isn't too late I will start wiping things down probably. Do a little each night probably. I figured I will have about 6 hours in it till I am all done with the inside.

I have a 91 Dodge D250 diesel lined up to clean on the inside next.

This is why I hate interiors they just suck up time to clean them right. Something that dirty should be an upcharge to clean.

For that red stain I'd try; ( Always test a small area first )

Try applying rubbing alcohol to the area and tamping (the method of bringing a brush down with light strokes on stained durable fabrics and materials).
As stain loosens, blot liquid and stain with absorbent pad.
Keep both the stain and pad moist with alcohol and change pad as it picks up stain.
Allow to dry.
You could even try a white towel dipped in water and alcohol plaved over the stain then use an old iron set the wool steam setting and use the iron to press the towel into the stain. The towel should start absorbing the red stain.

Red stains are tough to remove.

Got some more work done tonight. I have about 4 hours in it so far, and have roughly 1-2 hours worth of work to do probably. I priced it for 6 hours worth of work, so I should be in good shape. I got almost all of the red stain out. Might try and get some more out tomorrow, but it was getting to dark to work outside.

I read on here about making a terry cloth wet with windex and laying it on the stain, and using an iron on it. It seemed to work pretty good. I think with another 10-15 min I can get the rest out, but I moved on to the front for now.

I worked on the driver side front tonight and center console. Used the LGM on the carpet and APC+ wipe down.

Once everything is cleaned I will go back and dress and protect everything. Little by little it is getting there.

What is "LGM"

Bissel Little Green Machine. It's a small carpet extractor.

Unbelievable work! Unfortunately, if your friend trashed it once, he'll do it again.

Yeah I am certain it will eventually return to this state. I am probably going to end up doing the interior on their year old Ford Escape, which looks almost as bad as this did. Oh well, just more work for me :P
