Hi Folks,
I am fairly new here but have been doing my own clean up work on my car for a bit.
I just got lots of goodies from AG (Thanks Nick!)
Cyclo Polisher pro
Wolfgang goodies
just ordered a whole slew of CG shampoos. :)
Anyway, this particular thread is about a headlight restore that I did using the Meguiar's heavy duty restore.
Contained in the kit are two sanding pads (1 x 1000 grit and 1 x 3000 grit). I was going to supplement with 6000 and 8000 but left it as is.
A buffing wool pad on drill mount and Plast-x and clear protector.
Short story, lots of water and elbow grease along with tape to save the paint when you go offsite.
Anyway on to the pictures :)
This is what I started with

Yes folks that is heavy heavy oxidation!! (Shame I can not attach the 13mp pc. it is horrible!)
(Note to Autogeek... you guys don't have the heavy duty headlight resto kit from Meguiar's).
Another shot

First pass with the 1000 grit and about 5 minutes and lots of water

That was after cleaning with a microfiber towel
I did the 3000 grit after but silly me, no pictures. that was about 10 minutes and again, lots of water.
Here is the final outcome after using the Plast-x on an electrical drill.

Crystal clear.
Overall it was fairly straight forward. The only thing not part of the kit was the mask tape I used. :)
