Hi all,

First time poster, long time looker on this fantastic forum.

I came across this today and can't work out what it is or where it's come from.

It is not rough and completely smooth and as far as I know the car has never been machine polished.

It honestly looks like some sort of chemical staining, vigorous rubbing or someone has forgotten to wipe off the polish.

It can be only be seen on different lighting conditions and angles however I know it's there and is driving me nuts!

I am not sure what action to take and how I can attempt to fix this.

Would anyone have any idea as to what this is and how to rectify?

Apologies for the quality of photos, from an iPhone 4S.

Many thanks in advance.

it looks like a a wetsand spot but try wipeing the area with microfiber if dont work then dewax the area with dawn or apc if it still there then its a paint defect that has to polished or compounded out...good luck

Something like this may have been the culprit:

Looking at the 'spot' and then looking at what "VT" said (good eye there!), try using a mild polish on that and surrounding area. It's almost looks like there is a clean spot being surrounded by 'dirty' paint.

Whatever you try...LEAST aggressive first.

Thanks. In my world and in my circles that's normal.

But as for the OP :dunno:
