I had a chance to detail just the paint on my VTX today. Don’t look at the chrome or other parts :) . Since there’s hardly any surface area and my paint was not in the best shape I took it through the XMT test.
Washed with DP 4 in 1
4” green Edge pad for XMT4/XMT3
4” white for XMT2/XMT1
XMT180 wax by hand
Let sit for 10 minutes to a haze
Buffed off with Cobra MF
This is the second time I’ve used this wax and I’m really beginning to like it a lot. The weather was a little more forgiving this afternoon, in the low 80’s compared to 93 when I waxed the Frontier last Saturday. Buffing the wax off by hand was so much easier today.
My before pics are not too good but I think you’ll like the afters. The Candy Apple Red metallic paint simply popped after using this wax. I also took this opportunity to change out the look of my bike. It went from cruiser to street rod in about five minutes. Different seat, no windshield and no bags, I like to change it up once in a while.
