Yesterday I finally received my polisher and some Menzerna products :dblthumb2: Since getting no reply about UV Headlight protection I did some reading ( alot actually ) and finally decided to try out my own stuff as the stuff you guys use isn't available to us in South Africa.

Did the lights around 1pm and it's still holding up as I left work at 4:30 pm. Big storms approaching so I pulled the car under the roof to cover from the rain. Will check again tomorow if it's still doing fine though. I would also like to give the lights 3-6 months before confirming that my product DOES work , but for now its promising enough for me .....

After sanding down with 1000 , 1200 and then 1500

I then buffed with the FG400 followed by PF2500. The lights still had slight haze in them but as soon as my stuff were mixed and applied they went crystal clear in a matter of seconds.

Both done

Oh and btw , I had to leave work in a rush so tomorrow I will attempt to remove the black paint stain on the flicker on the left hand side. Any tips other then the normal process I followed today ??

Thanx for reading :dblthumb2:

Nice work!!

The only thing I would add is to be absolutely certain that the headlights are crystal clear before putting any sort of sealant on them as any imperfections will be sealed in. I say this because you mentioned there was still some haze left over.

I find that turning the headlights on helps tremendously with finding any remaining defects (including tracers, pigtails, and haze).

Thanx for the comments guys. I really hope my sealer holds up.

@erichaley - thanx for the tip bud !! Well if I can describe it like this , the headlights looked good but weren't crystal clear untill I used the sealer. The sealer makes it *pop* like a new glass light

Right, the sealer made them look clear (or at least clearer in relation to how they looked before), kind of like how a glaze fills in swirls. I bet if you look closely or with the lights on, you'll see it. Just something to keep in mind for next time.

Thanx Lawrence hoping to learn and share on this forum !!

Anyways ..... Arriving to work I noted that the poor Kia couldn't be protected from the storm and the lights were hazy most probably due to rain and dust :bash:

I decided to restart the process and that I would also remove the black paint stain on the flicker this time round. I spent a little more time on polishing the lights to perfection ( Thanx Erichaley for the tip ) and they came out crystal clear BEFORE applying the UV selaer :dblthumb2:

Onto the pics
