Can anyone recommend a gentle weekly soap that will not change the hydrophobic qualities of a coating? I am going to coat my car with EXOv2 this week and I am concerned that most soaps containing a gloss agent will alter its properties.

All recommendations/feedback will be appreciated!

Thanks!

Most soap will not change the hydrophobic of a coating.
But personally I am using adams soap to wash my truck that is coated with c1 and exov2

Great amount of suds and lubrication.

On a related note, does the automatic car wash soap interfere with the hydrophobic properties of sealants/wax sealants?

I've always wanted to run through a touchless car wash with my coating on. I hear they use stronger chemicals in their soap to compensate for lack of agitation, so I never tried while I was only waxing or sealing my car. But now with a coating on, I'd really like to find out!

I've taken my car through touchless car washes for three straight months last winter with just DG 105 sealant protecting the car with no harm to the sealant. I'd expect a coating to be a no brainier doing the same thing.

As a general guide, any product which claims to add gloss, enhance sheeting etc. will be designed to leave a film which can degrade the hydrophobic character as long as it is present. However, since none of these types of products will strip a coating, it is simply a matter of time until the film washes away - so no harm is ultimately done.

How does the film degrade existing protection? If anything it's an extremely temporary layer of protection added to existing lsp

Does Meguiars Gold Class have any degreasers in it or anything that will shorten the life of a coating like Opti-Coat 2.0/Opti-Coat Pro or C- Quartz Finest?
