what is the correct process and products to use to get water spots off glass?

Glass polish and glass pads. Something like ceriglass or my fav DP glass restorer

I would start with a quality glass cleaning solution and glass towels first, then move on to a glass polish by hand. If they're really bad you could get some glass pads for a polisher and use some CeriGlass or something similar.

Matter of fact, I tried DP Glass Restorer on a test spot my Super Bee last weekend to remove water spots from the dealer (been lazy and haven't had a chance to get to it, for 9 months) and it removed every single one. I just used a PC7424XP with speed setting 4.5, no need for the Rupes, with a LC CCS white polishing pad with great results. Might be planning to do all the windows this weekend.

Just to add a little clarity to this topic... there is two types of class polishing...



1. Removing topical defects like mineral deposits and road film which are "on" the glass.

2. Removing below surface defects like wiper scratches "in" the glass.


If you want to remove defects that are "IN" the glass you need a glass polish that contains Cerium Oxide.

I have an article coming up when that shows how I used the CarPro Ceriglass with the CarPro Rayon Glass Polishing Pads to remove wiper scratches out of my wife's Honda using ONLY the Porter Cable.
