OK so bought a bottle of it and tried it on my front fenders, I love the shine it gave me.
I read on the bottle it's a polish and a wax all in one.
Question.

Will it remove my sealant which is Griot's?
The word "Polish" worried me that's why I'm asking the question before I go any further.
One thing is certain it does make my black paint pop, easy on and off.
No staining of my MF towels which is a plus.

Polish & Wax = AIO

So if you apply it gently by hand it should not fully remove the sealant. But if you apply it with a machine or with force I would anticipate it have some effect on your sealant. But this is just my opinion / observation on using AIO product over an existing sealant or wax.

its got mild abrasives in it.. about the same as a polish... I suspect they are the same SMAT particles in M205.. I say this because I've seen its corrective properties up close many times...

that being said.. if its strong enough to get into fine swirls on a clear coat ... the i would definitely say yes... the abrasive nature of the wax could definitely remove an LSP below it .... of course this depends on how much pressure and how long you work the product into the paints surface ...

with light pressure and quick application it should be OK..

this is a very mild ALL IN ONE...

Meguiar's Black Wax is an "undyed"-AIO...that contains "abrasives".

Based on Black Wax's abrasiveness-level; and taking into consideration the inherent sealant characteristics of
this particular Griot's Garage Sealant (along with its application time-lapse interval); then: "Doing the math"...

What does a "test-spot" reveal? Shining, Popping Black Paint...nonetheless!!

IMHO: Your call to continue with the Meguiar's Black Wax application, or not.

Use the Black wax and follow up with Megs Ultimate Paste wax, problem solved...

Thanks guys for your comments.
I'm doing it by hand and going over it 3-4 times per the directions on the package.
Now I'm thinking I may be removing the sealant.
To me on the safe side I'll add a coat of Griot's Paint Sealant once done.
It truly works well, I didn't buy it to remove swirls because I use the 205 for that but I love it because it goes on so easy and wipes off easy, almost like a butter type wax with a big shine.

As most of you know its almost impossible to keep a black car swirl free no matter how well you maintain a DD

Have you researched if Meguiar's Black Wax is an AIO-Wax, or an AIO-Sealant...LSP-product?

Sealant before wax, not after wax.

The sealant will not bond properly. So no point in doing this.

No I haven't, I think I'll call Meguiar's and ask them.
I'd really love to know the answer to my questions.
I don't think it's a sealant, more of a polish with wax.

Hence why I mentioned Megs Ultimate Paste wax, even though it is a sealant, according to Meguiars, ALL of their products are cross compatable so you can use their sealant over their wax.

I do this all the time with Megs UPW over ColorX, everything turns out fine, doesn't hurt durability.

I'm sure you've seen this picture before:

From: Meguiar's Black Wax Q&A...

"We want to be sure and point out a couple of things about these two new waxes":

1 - There are no dyes or colorants of any kind in these waxes. We expect that to be a concern with the Black Wax especially, but it is nothing like that other black wax on the market.

2 - These are sort of like paste waxes in a tube; think about the delivery of toothpaste from a tube and you're really close. The tube is a metalized material so you can roll it up from the bottom, just like a toothpaste tube (which you all roll up from the bottom, right????). The wax itself has a consistency somewhere between what you expect from a true paste and a true liquid, but once you get it on a pad, either a hand pad or a DA pad, it spreads like warm butter. Both will dry to a light haze quite quickly and wipe off is very easy.

-You can use any wax on any colored vehicle, we just formulated this one with some extra polishing oils to enhance darker colors while the White Wax has more cleaners to brighten up lighter colors. Which one you truly need on your particular car is up to you. This wax does have some cleaning ability (nowhere near as much as the White Wax does, though) so you wouldn't want to apply this over a sealant or other wax as it would remove most, if not all, of that previous wax.

This would appear to answer your questions:
-Removal, or not, of a previously applied Sealant
-Is it a: Wax, Sealant, Hybrid

I could be wrong, though.

Does their white wax also have abbrasives? I can understand why a black wax may have them but I wonder if the white does as wel.

According to the picture Bob posted the white wax sure does have polish and cleaners in it.

Why?: Because to get the most pop out of any color you need to polish and clean the surface. The cleaner and more polished the better it will look. These are AIO products for the DIY guy that buys OTC stuff.

From Meguiar's White Wax Q&A (w/my highlighting):

"Since lighter colors, from light blue to silver, gold, yellow, pale greens, etc really benefit from a deep cleaning to really enhance the brightness of the colors,
White Wax is formulated with SMAT abrasives to do just that. So if you're thinking that this is basically a cleaner wax, you're right -

but because of the SMAT abrasives in it, it's a very potent cleaner wax, much more so than even ColorX or M66.

While this may be marketed to the "average consumer" looking for a good wax for a light colored car,
for savvy forum members it's going to be a killer one step when used with a buffer".
