Upon taking delivery of the car i opened the hood and found the tag that stated the color, i was so happy it was Black Sapphire Metallic and not Jet Black. Woot! :dblthumb2:

The owner of the car and I agreed on a 1-step correction detail. The car was bought used with 19k miles, and after 3 years of ownership it only got 8k more (27k total on the odo). It is kept in a climate controlled indoor garage ever since the purchase, and the client washes the car himself.

The dealership he bought the car from 3 years ago did their own "detail" installing holograms, and deep swirls into the paint. This is something that the owner never knew could be removed without repainting the car. I guess you can say i was his savior :props:

On to the pics!

How it arrived

After testing out a few spots, and trying to find out what would work best for this vehicle, i had no luck with just a one-step, therefore i stepped it up and i chose to use the Sonax Perfect Finish (recommended by zmcgovern here on AG, thanks again!!), followed by Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish. This removed about 85%-90% of swirls, and all holograms disappeared.

Here are the remaining progress and after pictures!

Before..

After..

After working with Sonax, the vehicle was washed again to safely remove dusting.

Looking good.

Usually you can use SPF as a one step. Was it not finishing down properly for you hence the two step with Pinnacle Finishing Polish?

Thank You! The SPF wasn't removing all swirls and some holograms were still visible. This was after applying more/less product, pressure variations, Etc. After combining that with the Pinnacle Polish everything went away. I did have to do 6 section passes on all panels.

I just re-read your question.. the Sonax was finishing very nicely, almost clear, but did not remove all swirls and some holograms were still visible.

I ended up switching from LC Orange to an LC Cyan pad, which gave me better results with the Sonax.
