Why is it not recommended to apply wax to your car windows?

I wax my windows.
However, I will mention that the wipers can chatter if the windshield is waxed with certain waxes.

Just about everytime I apply a LSP to my car I do the windows, all of them, and have never ever had an issue with the wipers. I know this, in a steady rain my wipers don't even have to be turned on!

I personally use paint sealant on my windows (rather than wax). A wax contains natural oil (albeit carnauba, bees wax etc..) which may, after some exposure, leave a film on your windshield. A sealant on the other hand is a synthetic polymer based product which bonds to the substrate and does weather better (and longer) than wax. Only thing to top paint sealant would with a glass coating.
