I wanted to share this quick interior detail I did on a 2012 Hyundai Accent. Interior detailing has a lot of variables when trying to clean something like a seat or carpet. This particular interior is made with a non stain material almost water proof if you will. This material can be stained and when it happens it is much harder to get out than interior fabrics. But it can be done. Just be sure what you are working on before you start hitting something with chemicals or an extractor because not all cars are made the same way.
Anyway this is how the car looked after giving it a good look around.

I started out with a good thorough vacuum. Vacuuming the hard plastic parts of the interior not only makes things faster but also keeps your interior micro fiber media from getting soiled faster when you go to the next steps. It also helps to brush the carpet with a good brush as you vacuum to really get in and loosen up the dirt that is embedded way deep down.

After the vacuum step it is then time to move on to the deep cleaning using my steamer and Griots interior cleaner. Griots interior cleaner is safe and effective it has no dyes or other chemicals will discolor or cause your plastic parts to fade or become damaged.

For the pedals, Meguiars super degreaser was used. By placing a micro fiber towel down while cleaning you keep dirt from dripping down onto the floor preventing you from having to do more work than necessary.

The floor mats were cleaned using Meguiars all purpose cleaner. The plastic was treated with Meguiars ultimate protectant.

Nice!

What kind of steamer are you using? I am looking for one to clean interiors like this one. I do not need a super duper steamer, just one that does the job well.

Did you use the steamer or extractor on the seats? Or did you do it by hand as you stated the seats were difficult to work with, just curious. Thanks for posting and sharing, much appreciated.

Hey willtothewong! Thank you very much. I am using a shark pocket steam mop. I went and bought a McCulloch steamer thinking it would be better but it was not. :awman: it made a lot of steam but it was more like a humidifier because it did not even get that hot. My shark has burned my arm several times and i have to use gloves or it gets so hot that I cant stand it. it is powerful and really helps melt all the sticky, gunky, hard to get to places. Its also nice around the house. :xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs:

Italian Guy, Thank you so much. I did use the steamer on the seats but it was mostly spraying some cleaner on a micro fiber and rubbing it on the spots till it foams then I used a very soft brush that is a nail brush that I found to be just the right softness for leather and some interior plastics then rubbed with another micro fiber to pick up the rest then steamed and wiped with a micro fiber I hope that helps.
