About to start a detail on another BMW and the trim has a very heavy oxidation film on it. Quick tried Mother's MAG and Aluminum Polish and it didn't do the job. Suggestions for a fast, effective way in eliminating this? Maybe steel wool followed by gTechniq M1 Metal Polish?

Cg metal shine works great for me. Steel wool will be key here though

P21s polishing soap will take care of that.

Here is a review done by a fellow forum member rms64.

I picked this up after his review and couldn't be happier.

That looks to me like the top finish (think clear coat) on those pieces has failed. I had something similar happen to the rubber windshield gasket. I sanded it off to a smooth matte finish and protected it with DLux.

I would OptiCoat it once you restore it to a pleasing look.

I even tried #3 steel wool with no luck. Starting to think this is a finish failure like swanicyouth mentioned.

Had the same issue on my 335i. Try some p21s per smack's link above. I think you'll be happy with the results!
