Afternoon Fellas-

I've got ahold of a 97 30th Anniv Camaro for the next few months and plan to bring it back to it's once wonderful luster.

However, the owner worked in the auto trade for a living so there are black stains all over the white leather, coffee stains that are years old, and even latex paint in the trunk of the car.

My plan is to remove all the seats so they can be cleaned thoroughly. Which will include Meg's leather cleaner/conditioner and my LGM/folex on the cloth houndstooth inserts.

Anyone recomend an OTC product that could handle this job of removing the black from the white leather or if there's a product at AG that can tackle it I'd like to know.

Thanks guys,

wow, good luck. that sounds horrible.
I'd use an ACP to get that out.

And the results are in. I used Mothers VLR, Mothers detail brush, Folex, lots of microfiber towels, and my LGM. Turned out well! There are still a few spots that didn't come out perfect but I'd need steam or an $800 hot water extractor.

First thing you need to find out is treated leather or not. Take a small of water and see if it soaks in the seat or not. If it is treated leather I use 1z deep plastic cleaner and Sonax leather foam or leather master products.

Great improvement from the before and after photos.

The solid white area is leather and the houndstooth insert is cloth. The leather all cleared up very well and any staining left over is actually the leather being worn down from being sat in, which is primarily the drivers seat.

The cloth was the only item that I wanted more of a result from but the coffee stains on white fabric with my hobbyist tools didn't stand much of a chance. But I know a legit hot water extractor or steam would yield great results.

I'm very satisfied with the results.
