P21S Reg. Wheel Cleaner vs. PB Spray and Rinse

I did a test between these two wheel cleaners. Both were used on the front wheels, no agitating, let sit for 3 minutes. The wheels where cold and dry. Rinsed with pressure washer, no drying.

Overall, the PB cleaned the wheel a lot better then the P21S did. The P21S definitely didnt get everything off. After that I used PB on the other wheel and it got off everything P21S didnt get off. PB will be my new go to wheel cleaner for customer cars.

Here is PB at work.

After- again no agitating, just rinsed with the pressure washer.

Hey, nice you tried them out :D. On the last pic, I still see some brake dust, or is that some kinda rim rash?

I think it should be noted these are two very different wheel cleaners. P21S is very safe and needs agitation (thus the sponge shipped with it). The Poorboys is Citric Acid based and very safe but very strong and must be used exactly as directed. (doesnt look like you had a wet wheel, remember they want cold, wet, and spray liberally with no agitation)

I wonder if the P21S gel version would have worked better? hummm

True, they are very different. However, I would recommend PB for a detailer over P21S. You literally dont have to touch the wheel with PB. That alone saves a lot of time. Neither wheel was wet, neither got agitation, and they were 100% cold like I said in my first post. I wanted to keep everything the same and see which worked better. Im sure the PB would still work better even if the P21S was agitated and the wheels were wet.

Nice comparison, that PB sounds like a good product...I wonder how the P21S gel would hold up? I have some and I love it, I like the fact that it's gentle on my rims.

Sweet comparison though, thanks for the time and efforts buddy.

Nice comparison Dan, I too use and love the PB's spray and rinse. Only problem is a lot of customer's cars are outside and thus, have warm wheels, so I have to do one side in the shade, then turn the car around for the other.

I have been using P21s wheel cleaner and I think it does a good job. I just received a gallon of PB Spray and Rinse yesterday and I have not had a chance to try it out yet. Both products have received good reviews on the forum. Nice review but I think killr's comments should be noted.

One of my cars have 3 piece wheels with the centers powder coated black. Does any know if PB Spray and Rinse is safe for powder coated wheels?

I used P21S Gel Wheels Cleaner with great success. I did let it sit for over an hour, which isn't practical as a detailer, but nonetheless it worked very well.

Gary - killerwheels comments are right on the money.
Now, with your 3 piece wheels with center power coated, I personally would use P21S wheel cleaners or Zymol wheel cleaner. Try taking a standard bottle of P21S wheel cleaner and replacing the stock sprayer with a Autogeek foam sprayer head. I believe you will find that the standard P21S wheel cleaner will cling better to the wheel and not just run off. This means you will use less wheel cleaner per wheel.
I use to retail all the P21S products. We used them in our detailing business on a daily basis and they are Safe on the most expensive wheels. I have nothing but positive things to say about P21S products.
Hope this helps.

"This product can be used on clearcoated, painted, chrome, and even plastic hub caps, but should NOT be used on uncoated wheels without dilution and spot testing, or hot wheels." Straight from the site.

And remember, you can dilute this stuff too, 1:1 or 2:1.

Hey on that Expeditio i did i used p21s wheel gel and it did awesome, yes you have to agitate, but that stuff is killer

so go easy on P21s, and yes the gel works alot better than the spray. it clings more to the wheel giving it superior cutting power on brake dust and what not
