I was watching TV and saw a commercial for Rust-Oleum Never Wet and it got me to wondering "How long before a (most likely high-end) OEM car will come with a super hard Hydrophobic Ceramic Clear Coat that does not require much maintenance?" Mercedes has the super hard ceramic based clear coat but not the Hydrophic, wouldn't the logical next step be adding Hydrophic? Or is this already offered? I know Opti-Coat but as a true spray on clear coat.

Closest thing for automotive use is Gtechniq EXO. NeverWet leaves a frosty white finish and does not wear well. As far as automotive OE using a hydrophobic coating or clear-coat? Beats me. My vehicle has a OE hydrophobic glass coating though.
