This car was purchased used by a gentleman whom I used to work with. It was in pretty good shape except for some mishap on the back edge of the trunk lid. Typical rock hard GM clear though. Opti Guard was the choice of protection for this car.

Here it is as it arrived:

Here's what I was referring to with the trunk lid scratches:

This is a very pretty colour red. I was excited to see how it would jump when I was done with it!

First up was the wheels.

Barrels & faces got cleaned first with Tarminator followed by Zep Citrus.
Wells were cleaned with LATA.
Tires were cleaned with 2 rounds of 505. (2nd round more for insurance; it was not turning brown).

Next the car was foamed with a strong mix of DG 901 and the emblems, etc were cleaned while it dwelled:

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t12/rhowitt/Detailing%20shots/Detailing%20shots001/DSC_1881.jpg (http://s156.photobucket.com/user/rhowitt/media/Detailing%20shots/Detailing%20shots001/DSC_1881.jpg.html)

That was followed by a hand wash with DG 901.

The car was then brought inside while I blew off the wheels, barrels and wells with my Master Blaster.

The car was then clayed using a CarPro Elastofoam block.

Paint Correction:

The paint was typical hard GM. Most spots were vastly improved with only one round of M100 + black TB wool + Flex 3401. Some places like the hood and trunk lid top needed more passes to get it great. The scratches on the rear surface of the trunk lid were attacked with my Dyna, a 3" TB wool pad + Power Gloss.
The R/R 1/4 panel had this weird scuff on it. That came out with the M100. Here is the scuff mark:

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t12/rhowitt/Detailing%20shots/Detailing%20shots001/DSC_1882.jpg (http://s156.photobucket.com/user/rhowitt/media/Detailing%20shots/Detailing%20shots001/DSC_1882.jpg.html)

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t12/rhowitt/Detailing%20shots/Detailing%20shots001/DSC_1883.jpg (http://s156.photobucket.com/user/rhowitt/media/Detailing%20shots/Detailing%20shots001/DSC_1883.jpg.html)

The polishing stage was done with M205 + white B/S + Rupes 21. Headlights, tail lights and the high mount stop light were all compounded and polished too.
The paint prep stage was done with DG Squeaky Clean to ensure a true correction with no filler. That was followed by an ERASER wipe down.

The windshield was coated with Opt Glass coating.
The paint, wheels, and remaining glass were all coated with Opti Guard.

The trim was treated to UTTG. The black window trim was done with DLux trim coating.
The tires were shot with DG Wet shine via an air gun and leveled.

The paint was wiped down the following day with UWW.

Here is the end result:

Oh, man, there's no going back for me. I've been using them for about 2 years I think and I absolutely love them. The yellow rocks at correction and if you soak it, wring it and spin it, it is unbelievably soft too. They last a long time too and are easy to clean using M100, 105 or 205.

Nice job as always!
Thanks for the kind words!

Thank you. I was really excited to see how it would come up..I wasn't disappointed, LOL.

Thank you, and, yes I do. It is a great product for polishing chrome. You must seal it or coat it with something afterward though. Collinite Metal wax is another great choice for an all in one product.

Great stuff Richy !!!!
Thank you my friend!
