i have previously coated some 1080 but it was something that was in an engine bay...a wrapped Killer B Motorsports Subaru WRX STI radiator shroud.

yesterday i installed a wrapped OE C 63 spoiler (wrapped by this (https://www.facebook.com/wuwraps) guy) and then wiped it with ~20% IPA solution and coated it with Opti-Coat Pro. didn't seem to darken it at all or change the appearance at all except maybe a very SLIGHT increase in sheen.

so coat with confidence!!!

(i am not entirely sure on the ability of 1080 to gradually bleed down air bubbles and stuff after installation so i'd check on that prior to coating right after a wrap. some films have one way pathways for air to leave if trapped.)

here are some pics. due to Autogeek's automatic resizing, if you want to see higher res you need to click on the picture.

Think this is kinda funny someone who can afford that car just didn't get a real carbon fiber spoiler for it. It looks cheap on such a nice car.

it looks awesome in person, just like dry carbon but with a little sheen. i've had the car set up with the OE paint-matched spoiler, no spoiler and the wrapped piece. i prefer the wrapped most, second is a bare decklid and lastly with the paint-matched.

i see no function in a true carbon decklid spoiler, i can't justify a purchase like that. a wrapped OE spoiler performs just as well as a real AMG carbon spoiler, fits better than anything aftermarket if i was looking at an alternative to the wallet-draining AMG carbon spoiler, weighs the same as any carbon piece and looks identical in my eyes except the real AMG CF piece is gloss, not matte.
