I finished the exterior of this silver 330Ci with a coat of Meg's #26. Really added a wet appearance to the car.

I initially used Menzerna compound followed by Menzerna Glaze (both in their Pro series), then power washed to remove excess and added #26 with the Festool and a finish pad.

Here's a couple of shots

Tomorrow, I finish the interior, then start on an X5. The real test for Menzerna is a Black 745 in the lineup.

How did Menzerna work with the Festool? Looks really good.

Thanks for sharing.

That's beyond beautiful. It's always a shock to scroll down and see the level of shine and wet that you get.

Toto,

Menzerna PowerGloss works great, but to be honest it's not a gem in their great line of polishes. I'd look into 106FF, P085RD 3.02 or P085RD, or 106A.

Nica: I'll shoot some pics when the car is outside late today. I've got to do the interior, so that's a good opportunity. Most of the car was done using the Metabo and the Festool was for bumpers and final application of #26.

Woob: The Menzerna compound is pretty good IMO. It doesn't cake on a cutting pad like the normal 3M stuff we have. And, it seems I can work it longer on the paint surface. I've got a bottle of 106FF, but didn't use it because I wanted to perform a direct comparison of our 3M process. I might put 106FF to use when I start the Black 745.

Toto, that hood looks exceptional for light silver paint.

The glaze finishes "different" from the 3M product. Typically with 3M, I work the glaze until there is almost zero haze or product and Menzerna doesn't work that way. You can work it a long time and it leaves a haze to be wiped with an mf towel. It's almost like a combo of glaze and 3M's Ultrafina SE (which leaves a similar haze).

All-in-all, I'm looking at a step saving with this product by eliminating the Ultrafina step (expensive and time consuming).

When I start the black 745 later this week, I'm going to do a start-to-finish on a panel (hood, door, etc) and photograph the process/results.

Such great as usual. I'm really going to have look into this #26 at one point, they sell it everywhere and a lot of people are getting nice results out of it.

Do you apply by hand?

You can apply by hand, but it's much faster with a pc or rotary and finishing pad. The shop uses it exclusively for the simple fact that you can get it on rubber/plastic trim and it dries clear.

Finished the interior tonight and got some additional pics. The silver paint really came out nice.
