A co-worker of mine has a Mini Cooper S with black cloth seats, he spilled some Pepsi on the driver seat. The soda appears to have lightened that area slightly, almost like a bleach would but not as bad. Has anybody come across this problem before?

Ah phosphoric acid lightening, I guess! Maybe the solution is to spill some more over the rest of the interior. Sorry to not be much help.

What i think is the dark colored soda that has a dye in has stained the seat therefore the seat has turned from black to a lighter shade of black or even dark black brown my guess is use a extractor with folex and see if that help and bring back the originality if not re-dye that section good luck
