Ugh no before pics?

I think you'll find the before portion on the other side of the tape...

Sounds like a good challenge thread though! Post up before and after pictures of your junk yard treasures...

Someone actually brought you a hood to test your skills? That's really crazy! You would think someone with that good of an eye or that interested would want to do it themselves.

What type of car do they have?

What is the Job??? Did you ask him what it was for? The Batmobile or maybe the Cyote form Hardcastle and Mc Cormic or the Presidents Bus? and If he doesn't give it to you I would charge him form my time on this "test". Did you ask him what it was for?

It seems to be a lot of steps taken to achieve those results. I would think that you could have gotten there with the right compound/pad combo.

Lots of hoops to jump through to land one detail. I would probably tell the potential client that my reputation proceeds me and that I would not do the hood.

Why is it Professional Detailers get no respect from the rest of the general populace?

I doubt many people would even dare think to tell a Professional Dentist that
they want to see this type of dug-up example "fixed", before they get the job?

If I were to have been in your position...
I would've been tempted to tell this person that I was a Professional Detailer; and, that I didn't have to tolerate
anyone that thinks I must overcome their pre-conceived mental-process/notions that I was nothing more than a:
"Glorified shoe-shine boy; Fly-by-nighter; Weekend trunk-detailer; True detailing-hack".

This is why you have pictures of your work. I would've shown him my pictures and if he didn't like that then he could walk. I would've never of done all that work for free or to prove my self.

Did you get to keep the hood? Even if you didn't get the job, you'd still have a nice piece to show your skills rather than just pics.

In a way I understand. There are so many hack detailers that pose as paint correction professionals.
