Car wash soap and water followed by a metal polish. Collinite metal wax is great on tips.

P21s polishing soap then whatever sealant that is within reach. I don't keep a dedicated wax or sealant for a little bit of chrome. Cleaner yes.

If they are really trashed #0000 steel wool and any old rubbing compound will bring them back. Then polish out by hand with compound works wonders on stainless steel tips

where can you get this steel wool? Does chrome polish mean the same thing as metal polish?

If you don't have any #0000 steel wool, you can use 1000 grit sandpaper which, according to 3M, is equivalent. Used some last week on some Impreza tailpipes that define the word "trashed".
