Oh my gawd but I am in love with this car.... the front end is just so evil

This beauty belongs to the owner of this Subaru I detailed a while ago http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/60312-java-black-pearl-subaru-impreza-wrx-detailed-lawrence.html so the owner has thus replaced a car with extremely soft paint, with one that has extremely hard paint  The car itself is still pretty new (<20k Km's) and so this was never going to be a correction detail, but rather an enhancement/protection detail. The plan was simply to 'clean up' the paintwork and provide some protection.

The entire interior was blown out and then vacuumed. All surfaces including the leather were cleaned and conditioned. I then got to work cleaning the wheels and tires and then removing all the tar and iron deposits from them. They were eventually treated to a coat of Collinite 845 and the tires dressed.

I then spent a lot of time cleaning out the door shuts, boot shut, in the fuel flap, and in and around all the badges/emblems etc which was then followed by a full wash and dry.

Here are some pics of the car before

Once washed, the paint was fully decontaminated (tar removal/iron removal/clay) prior to polishing ensuring that the surface was perfectly clean and contaminant free. This is a crucial step as you do not want to get any 'dirt' trapped between the pad and the paint when polishing.

The paintwork was not really that bad to begin with, and given the age of the vehicle and the paint type (ceramic) I settled on a 1-step polish with Menzerna PF2500. Once completed I laid down a coat of collinite 845 and then Pete's 53 at the owner's request. A simply awesome WOWO wax, which seems to be getting good durability too (I detailed the owner's daily drive at the beginning of June http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/65661-reflex-silver-vw-tiguan-detailed-lawrence.html and he gave me some feedback when dropping off the Audi on the weekend - so far the Tiguan has not had a wash mitt touch it - it has only needed snow foam rinses to get it clean - and the car sleeps outside 24/7, and is still beading like crazy). Awesome!

Finally the exhaust tips were given a quick polish

Such a truly awesome car.... Even after I had finished with it, I went back into the garage on 2 separate occasions, just to look at it.:dblthumb2:

And thanks for your kind words about my work

Beautiful work as always Lawrence. Top notch work with extreme attention to detail. Looks amazing.

I will respond to your pm in a bit when things slow down for me. In the middle of moving. You mention picking up a 3401? I say jump on the opportunity. I love mine.

Really, really great work! Ibis can be difficult to make look really glossy, but you did a wonderful job with the LSP, and obviously with the corrective effort. Kudos. And....what a car!

Thanks Mike - hope the move is going well for you:xyxthumbs:

Yeah I had a good look at the Flex and still really want one, but the shipping costs are so prohibitive....$250 to ship a $479 machine just does not make sense so I will have to see if I can rather source locally.

Great job agai9n Lawrence !
Thank you very much sprokester

Thanks and I share you sentiments completely..... what a car....and it will keep getting better. The owner is from one of the software tuning houses and so this will be on the receiving end of software as well as the supporting hardware mods - the last RS3 I did was a mate of his, and that run a pretty decent 11.2 1/4 mile in street trim.
