I got a new client through my Facebook page. She contacted me about her 2013 Audi s5 in Estoril Blue Crystal. The car had some body work done recently and the body shop was kind enough to leave some nice deep scratches in the decklid for her, no extra charge, of course :props: She also had some other deeper scratches on the passenger quarter panel that bothered her, and generalized swirls throughout the paint. After looking over the car, we decided an all-in-one polish with spot compounding of said scratches should give her the results she was looking for.

Process and products:

Wheels washes with CG Diablo 1:3
Tires cleaned with Megs APC 1:4
Paint foamed and washed with CG Citrus Wash Red
Decontamination with Speedy Prep towel using "clean bucket" of wash soap as lube.
Spot compound with M101 on LC 5.5" orange flat pad, Flex 3401 speed 5.
Polish those areas with M205 on LC 5.5" white flat pad, Flex 3401, speed 5.
AIO with XMT 360 on LC 5.5" white flat pad, Flex 3401, speed 5.
CG Blacklight applied to horizontal panels for extra pop.
CG v7 applied to horizontal panels.
Tires dressed with PB Bold N' Bright.
Trim dressed with PB Spray N' Wipe.
Exhaust tips polished with Meguiars Metal Polish and elbow grease.
Exterior Glass cleaned with DP Krystal Vision.
Plastic lenses coated with Diamondite coating.

I found this paint to be super hard. I started the spot compounding with a GG 3" polisher with MF pads and CG v34/v36. The paint laughed in my face, I cried, then I decided the 3" polisher wouldn't cut the mustard. Some pics (levels adjustments and license plate blurring are the only edits):

As she arrived, decklid swirls:

Here is an overhead on the decklid after spot compounding / polishing. I taped over the edge for safety purposes, tape has been removed prior to the photo. You can still see the scratches if you already know they are there, but they are much less noticeable:

I taped off the hood to see the results of the XMT 360. Here is before:

Thanks for looking! The scratches blended in nicely and are really not that noticeable unless you already know they are there or look really hard. The owner was thrilled with the results and is already talking about bringing it back before the winter for a thorough wash and application of Collinite 845 for winter protection.

A very easy, yet profitable upsell on your next maintenance would be OC 2.0 for the wheels.
I can upsell the wheels even if I can't convince them for the paint.

Thank you for the compliments everyone!

Vegas, I would definitely like to look into doing something like this. I can get the OC2.0, or I have the DP Wheel Coating already. What kind of upcharge would something like this fetch?

Depends on your market.
I've only done 3 sets of wheels on new vehicles. I asked for and got one bill added to the detail.
Gotta have a jack and 4 stands.
PG customers aren't that anal about barrels and wells, but they will park their new purchase for months on end. Sundays excepted.
