If I wanted to give a shot at swirl removal and have access to all the CG hex pads, would the 6" HF da work? I only have access to the car till tomorrow, so everything would have to be picked up locally. Is there a decent swirl removal product which can be acquired locally and used in conjunction with the HF DA + CG hex pads?

the HF DA will work fine (focus on technique and don't rush). you can pick up the consumer versions of both m105/205 at walmart which would be megs ultimate compound and ultimate polish...

Will I need both? Also we just did a "detail" on the car this morning...

Rindless wash / nano prep / CG nano 3n / CG black light / CG butter wet wax

will there be any issues using the m105 right now?

It would undo all the work you just did unfortunately. Harbor Freight machine is great but the backing plate is crap. Given your time constraints, might be best to just leave it as it is and plan ahead to do a de-swirling and protection prior to winter.

Check out the dedicated harbor freight DA thread for more info.

Kinda leaning that way. It was more of a favor to the old man

Once my porter cable quit I bought a HF with a CG backing plate. Did my whole car with an orange hex pad and V36. The HF da worked fine
