If you have a couple extra or just aren't going.
Please contact me.
One is for me and another is for an upcoming young detailer that has gone to "paint" collage and is just a great girl that is dying to go to SEMA.

Thanks if you can help out.

I find it a bit strange that SEMA makes you actually *pay* to attend, whereas the coolest show in Vegas (although some might argue SEMA is cooler) is CES, (which we first started going to in 99 with my Home Theater business) and it's FREE! (Providing you register early of course.)

Jus' sayin'........ :)

I would love for my wife and I to go to this one year. Have never been able to put all the pieces together yet though.

I know right?
I've worked the trade show business for 11 years.
Most show charge $100- $1000 per sq foot to the exhibitor. So the organization makes money off the Exhibitors.
A lot don't charge for admittance but a few do. I don't know why. We are there to shop so why the extra charge to the actual customer?
I'll ask them when I get a chance.
Oh well, I'm fine with it, I'll just steel something to make up for it, jk :)

Oh they make money off the exhibitors that's for SURE! Back in 99, our first trip to CES, there is a show in town that piggybacks on it, T.H.E. Show (Total Home Entertainment Show). I was doing outside sales rep work for some startup high end, custom speaker builders. These guys monitor speakers start at $2K+ for a near field 2-way monitor. They'd typically 'share' a room with one or two other manufacturers at the all suite property right across the street from Hard Rock. Getting a 1 bedroom unit (2 total rooms) ran from $2500 and up depending where you were.

Tons of fun to see all the closet industry guys with really high end esoteric stuff. Speakers that look like canoe's that run well into 6 digits, with turntables that cost more than our first house! Not your typical video or home theater stuff either. These guys are serious, SERIOUS 2-channel guys. I've seen systems there that cost more than a freaking Ferrari!

And another show that always piggybacks with CES is the porn show!
The wife and I took a trip through their hall one morning on the way back to the Sands.Im the MAN
Had to go take a shower afterwards it was so sleazy. :nomore: Lots of free stuff there... some you couldn't wash off either.....

Do you have to be a business owner to get passes for the show? I would give my only child for a couple of passes.

:dblthumb2:

I've seen on TV when ever a special is shown. I want to experience this in person... Can someone help?

Thanks, Ken

Have you tried registering? AFAIK The only thing you need is to register, come up with a company name, and send them $25. (For the SEMA show.) CES otoh is still free, (up until Aug 31st).

Here's what my email said:
Admission to AAPEX and the SEMA Show are for the trade only and as such, registrants may be asked to provide proof of their affiliation in the automotive trade
I sent them my business card, reciept and 3 places I bought detailing supplys at.
