When I felt the paint on this truck with my bare hand and using the baggie test, I could tell right away it needed some help...

Here's some freshly kneaded clay ready to go.

I'm ONLY going to clay the first half of the driver's side of the hood.

Here's what I pulled off...

On a white microfiber towel for or contrast eh...

And it's on the paint, the glass, the wood, everywhere. I recently bought a 2 mil drop cloth at Lowe's and I remember it costing me around $4.00

:D

Yellow Single Stage Paint I believe from painting a 1932 Ford somewhere in the vicinity?

So basically the truck right now has a different shade of green from all that yellow single stage paint?
Can't wait for the results.

Years ago I went to Pick Your Part, and when I got out, there was yellow overspray all over the car, from house painting next door. (the car was yellow, though) This was before I knew of clay. It took a very long time to remove all that overspray with Bon Ami, weeks later, ahem. Wasn't looking forward to that. The place doing the painting gave my dad $100 compensation.

While seeing this, can i remove color with a normal clay from my blue colored single stage paint or is that always overspray ? I know that my Tailgate was repainted cause it has around 120µ while the rest of the car has about 80-90µ paint thickness. I clayed my roof and my blue clay turned dark blue and a little bit green or is that just tree sap ?

I'm detailing a lexus later today that has shop/bondo dust baked on throughout the exterior. I take a deep breath and shake my head when I see things like this.

But that's why I'm here :)...lol

Yes, exactly. With all the yellow overspray on the green paint it's actually a different shade of green. You can see the yellow paint we removed in this article,

I have some great pictures of the ENTIRE truck BEFORE we removed the overspray and some great pictures of the entire truck after we removed the overspray and then polished and waxed the paint and the truck is literally two different colors.

Didn't get time to get to all the pictures on Friday, the day after we buffed out the Chevy truck as it takes some time to go through them all and then get them "inserted" into threads like this but I will on Monday.

They will be in the below thread and I'll probably create a dedicated thread JUST for the before and after side shots of the truck.

Here's the befores though... if you look closely you can actualy see yellow ghosting on the surfaces...

Inside Autogeek's Show Car Garage
Looks pretty good from 15 feet away but there's no brilliant clear shine because the paint is covered with overspray and filled with swirls and scratches.
