So I searched for a specific answer to this and couldnt find any answer in the many topics regarding ONR W&W.

So I have the blue ONR W&S and have a quick detail mix as many probably do.

Obviously if I do a rinseless wash with ONR W&W it should be adding that layer of wax. But......if I wash the car via a standard wash method could I theoretically use a ONR W&W detail mix as a quick wax?

If I could eliminate having to buy a specific "detail wax" that would be great.

Thanks guys....

Sure you can. ONR with wax works as well as any QD I've used.

Obviously if I do a rinseless wash with ONR W&W it should be adding that layer of wax.

I don't think that using ONRWW is "adding a layer of wax" or that it's anywhere near equivalent to using OCW, for example. What it's NOT doing is wearing down your LSP...or if it is, it's replacing what would normally be lost by washing.

To put it another way, if had a car that had no wax/sealant/LSP on it, I would never consider using ONRWW to be "installing" a layer of LSP or a substitute for applying an LSP.

You're trying to take a product that's meant to boost/maintain an LSP, or provide some minimal protection for a wash customer, and make it into a real protection product. Even in QD concentration, I would guess it has a tiny amount of actives vs. OCW.

I guess I should clarify.

"adding a layer of wax" was a bad choice of words. What I meant was its putting on a quick wax over your LSP as you wash per Optimum's W&W description.

So in theory I could use the quick detail mix as a quick wax after a standard wash method.

PS: Im using Collinite 845 as my LSP.

What ratio are you using to mix onr ww as a detail spray?

What ratio are you using to mix onr ww as a detail spray?

Would be same as the blue ONR W&S. 8oz to 1 gallon of water

I would think it would be something similiar to v7, a detailer and protectant. But the durability would be a lot lower. I haven't used v7 or onrww but I wouldn't think it would last any longer than a week or two. But it's a great idea for a quick shine and protect.

Seems as though I should just stick w/ a stand alone quick wax if I want a quick wax after washing.....

Thanks everyone

Yah, I don't see it lasting anywhere near a good spray wax, but maybe longer than your standard soap and wax since it is an optimum product and they tend to create high end products in each area.
