I own a car and for the last few weeks I have been having some problems regarding its brake. When I drive at more than 20KM/H speed then everything seems normal. But as I reduce the speed to, say about 10-15 KM/H it feels like car is braking by itself from the rear tires. I don't want to take my car to the service station so early. If you know anything I could do on my own then please let me know.

Dear Henry,

Sounds like hydraulic seals. Do you know where they sell them, as I could use some as well

Anyone remember that guy, ummm I think his name was George Brown ?

George Brown didn't have any links in his signature.

rear calipers might be sticky. drive for 5 minutes then get out and feel the wherls (don't touch) if they are, or 1 is very hot or hotter then the other, that might be the problem

Even though I am thinking George brown also, I bite.

What kind of vehicle are you working on?

At first thought, I'm thinking sticky glide pins on the calipers also.

depends on the vehicle, like some said could be the pins if it has disc on the rear. or could be the caliper itself.

also you need to touch the rotor* not wheel, but be careful cause it might be hot.

if it has drums then your wheel cylinders are probably bad.

my brake pads delaminated once before on my jeep and caused something like this. One wheel got very hot and the dragging was more noticeable at low speeds it also smelled pretty bad once we stopped!!

You need a thermal heat gun and check temps. Harbor Freight has them for a reasonable price.

A brake check from a shop is like. $15.. If you don't know what you're doing take it. It could save your life
