Wow!

That's nasty!

Not sure what you're approach is going to be on any of this but it's going to take some work to get that vinyl clean. If you have a Porter Cable, Griot's, Meguiar's DA Polisher get Cyclo brush for it and let the tool do all the work for you.

I have a write-up showing this going up today. Same idea as this though with the Cyclo.

Cyclo Polisher = Cyclo Vinyl Scrubber (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/ask-expert-featuring-mike-phillips/68725-cyclo-polisher-cyclo-vinyl-scrubber.html)

For the sides of the boat, maybe consider starting with a Scotchbrite pad and some Comet to chew off all that nasty stuff and then start the compounding process.

Something like these,

Shurhold Scrubber Pads (http://www.autogeek.net/-shurhold-scrubber-pads.html)

The seats are acceptable for now. Im not going for show room quality, just cleaner.

Eventually the whole boat will get a fresh interior, but for this season it will work.

The hull will get an On Off acid bath first. Then a compounding with sander / meguiars one step compound... Then oxidation remover then a wash and wax.... starting this afternooon!

That is not a good look for a MasterCraft!! Being an MC owner myself, those pics make me cringe! Makes you wonder how long it sat in the water to get that level of growth on it. I've always had decent luck with MaryKate's On&Off to clean the hull. The gelcoat is very resilient and it washes all of that scum off easily. I follow that with a whole lot of soap and water to make sure the acid has been neutralized and washed away. Using the PC 7424XP, I hit mine with some Collinite 920 Cleaner with a white Lake Country CCS followed by some Collinite 925 Fiberglass Boat Wax on a blue LC CCS. Turned out great!

Good luck on that X1! That's a great boat!

damaged - about 6 - 8 months i think. We dont have a lift and I dont have a drivers license so pulling it out is a mission. We ride everyday so at least the engine is solid. What model do you have? And yes the X1 is by far my favorite hull, the new xstar is just too much wake for my level haha

6-8 months would definitely explain that...lol.

I picked up an 89 Tristar 190 with 190 hours on it about 10 years ago. The price was right and it needed a little love. I always wanted to upgrade to either an X1 or X14, but this boat doesn't give me any reason to. I've got about 500 hours on it now, and it just keeps kicking butt. I still slalom in addition to wakeboard, so I didn't want to get into a big V-drive. I prefer DD or smaller V. Loaded up properly, the Tristar has a pretty decent lip for some good pop.

I agree, the XStar is too much wake for my level too. I don't know what I would do with that much air, other than break myself!

Good luck cleaning her up. If I was any closer, I'd bring a few beverages and help out! Keep those progress pics coming!

broken femur here from it! =P

We have about 1700 hours on the 2006 just to put use into perspective and 2000 hours on a 1994 205DD... =) we get after it.

My buddy can do 900s behind the x1 saced out so until im at that level the X1 is perfect!

Well got a little bit done today.

Gave the hull and acid bath with on off and then took my dewalt sander and harbor freight pad to it with maguiars one step compound. Then buffed it off. Ended up killing the sander I think but overall I can't complain....
