Buddy of mine is looking at a 2003 996 Porsche Turbo
Car only has 48,000 miles and is in decent shape.
The front seats do have these marks, and seem very dry and stiff.
Was this from a previous re-dye? Or just extreme dryness?

Is the leather hard in those dry spots?

In the dull areas from far away, it looks as if its almost worn alcantara.

Try to clean one spot with some apc with a soft leather brush or a microfiber sponge ( easier on the leather ) , don t agitate it too much , rince than repeat if required which will be . than use some Leatrique or Leather Master products for feeding the leather .
If the dye s removed , you ll have to redye the leather mate .
