Hi Everyone,

First, thank you all for some really great help. This will be my starter kit so I am looking for some advice.

Setup;

Meguiar's G110V2
Meguiar's W 8207 7" Soft Buff 2.0 Foam Polishing Pads
Meguiar's W 9207 7" Soft Buff 2.0 Foam Finishing Pads
Meguiar’s Professional Backing Plate 3-inch
Meguiar’s Soft Buff Finishing Pad, 4-inch (2 pack)
Meguiar’s Soft Buff Polishing Pad, 4-inch (2 pack)
Meguiar's Ultimate Compound
Meguiar's Ultimate Polish
Meguiar's Mirror Glaze #21 or Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant

Questions;

I am hesitating on buying the 7" pads. Some people recommended the 5.5" pads from Lake Country. I would like to try Wolfgang products eventually and some others but I don't know if they would work with these 7" pads.

I know I would have to get pads with different cut levels, but I don't want to spend money on backing plate and pads that I will never use. Meguiar's recommended the 7" pads too.

This should help with my final decision,

Thanks guys!

The Wolfgang Duo is great but you can also go with menzerna since they make the compounds and polishes. FG400 and SF4000/4500 is a great combo.

But I wouldn't recommend going above 5.5" unless you go with a Flex or Rupes, why bog down the machine more than you have to.

Save a lot of money and get a Harbor freight for your first DA. look for the whole sandwich of a thread on here (use search featcher)

Or have you bought one already? Buff and shine are nice pads and hold up nice for me.

When I called Meguiars they said that there is a 6" backing plate that comes with the the G110v2 and recomend the 7" pads for it. They said to go with the 3" Plate and 4" pads for the smaller areas.

Why would this be manufactured and recommended by them if it's such a bad idea?

Don't get the meguires DA. Get a GG6 or a HF DA. More power and cheaper.

3D sells them if you have one nearby. Buff and Shine are also sold by Autoality or name changed to Uber.
