I just received my most recent order that included some newly updated Cobra Waffle Weave Microfiber Glass Towels. I haven't even used them yet, but I already don't like them. As you can see in the picture below, they have labels stitched into the seams. This is one of my pet peeves when it comes to microfiber towels. Why on earth is anyone still supplying towels with sewn in labels in this industry? You can't cleanly remove these without either leaving behind part of the label (which we all know will scratch just about anything it touches) or damaging the seam of the towel.

I really liked the previous version of this towel. They cleaned well and always left my glass flawless. I was really looking forward to using the 'new improved' version, but now I think I may be looking forward to returning them instead.

The Cobra Waffle Weave Microfiber Glass Towel cleans & buffs glass to crystal clarity with the soft texture of genuine Cobra microfiber. (http://www.autogeek.net/ww1627.html)

EDIT: These are definitely going back. I just looked at the opposite corner of the towel and the seam is already falling apart.

EDIT: Make that (3) out of (12) so far with failing seams. I'm not even going to bother looking at the rest.

are these not being used strictly for glass ? I doubt the tag is gonna scratch your glass ? the tag sucks indeed, all together though . looks like u tried to rip the tag out and hence why the seam is torn . u want some nice glass towels , look for carpro fast glass

Primarily glass towels. I agree with you 100%, the tag isn't going to scratch glass. That wasn't my concern. More so a general comment about tags, but also the fact that it could inadvertently scratch any trim or painted surfaces adjacent to the glass. I just prefer to not take the risk at all. I'm also a little shocked that these came with sewn in tags as my last batch did not, nor do I think any towel being marketed at the 'detailing' world should have a sewn in tag as they do have the potential create damage.

As far as the failed seam in the picture, that's actually on the other corner of the towel. Here is the towel folded in half to show the failed seam and the tag still intact. Like I said, I found (2) others in the batch that had similar seam failures before I gave up looking at the rest of them.

I will take a look at the Carpro towels. Thanks for the suggestion.

I've been using the old blue ones from AG for a few years and they are/were great. Some of mine are pretty beat up after all the use they have gotten, but they still work great. It was time to start mixing some new towels into the mix and since these were 'new and improved' I figured I couldn't go wrong. I guess I was wrong. Oh well, live and learn.
