This weekend I did just the basic wash and seal of the corolla.

Nothing fancy, nothing you're not used to - except i used Hydro2 as the sealant, in leiu of the multitudes of others that i have on hand (thanks Seth).

Did not dress the tires - need to scrub and re-dress at a later time - and need to correct the headlights, which i'm going to try out the diamondite pro system.

All pics via phone.

Wheels washed with Adams DWC (deep wheel cleaner), tires/wells got Zep citrus

Didn't care too much for DWC - I'm not a fan of the "AIO" wheel cleaner/de-ironizers.. they, to me, don't seem to do as good of a job as a wheel cleaner then IX... *shrug*.. it seemed that I used up a lot of DWC compared to a few trigger pulls of GG Wheel Cleaner and IX.

Sealed with Hydro2.

Washed w/ CG Citrus wash and clear, stripped of any remaining lsp:

Overall, i'm very impressed with this product.

I actually mixed Hydro2 with one part sealant to 4 parts water, instead of three.. I used about 3 oz of Hydro2 for the whole car, so 15 oz of solution

- i know i know, i used tooo much. i know -

But it was a cool evening and the product went on without a problem, rinsed off and blown dry. Applied to all paint, glass, and trim.

I have to say that ambient temperature and panel temperature play a huge part in this product.

using the same dilution ratio, i applied it to my black ford escape the next morning after the toyota. Warmer, humid, and sunny. Not the best conditions for Hydro2, as shown here:

Would i buy this product again? Absolutely. The time savings to apply the sealant is rediculously quick. No need for machine application, hazing time, buffing time.. spray, rinse, blow dry. done. :)

Good job Carpro!

Thanks for the review! Once I finish up my LSPs (probably never going to happen), this is next on my list!

Gloss is amazing.
Beading tight and tall.
How is the durability? Looks like a great maint. product.

paint needs do be stripped for hydro2 to work? Can it be layered if you already have LSP on your vehicle?

What are your plans for the streaking and spotting?

I've used 1:6 dilution with excellent results especially on dark paint to further reduce any possibility of streaking.

Keys are: apply on cool surface, spray fine mist, do not over apply, and most importantly...rinse very thoroughly. Rinse and re-rinse.

Dry as usual.

Thanks for the feedback VT

So to provide a follow up - it is now nearly September - almost 7 weeks since initial application. We've had a steady cycle of hot sunny days, followed by humid, then rainy, then hot again. my vehicles are parked outside all day, everyday.

I'll post some pics later on, but the corolla is still beading strong, nearly like day 1.

Its' pretty sick actually. I start the drive to work with a 'wet', beaded car, by the time i'm to the highway ~ 3-4 miles or so, 45 mph, the car's dry. Heck, just coming to a stop in my neighborhood sends waves of water over the windshield from the roof.

Hydro2 is pretty awesome.

Hydro2 can work over your current LSP. it's been stated that Hydro2 prefers to be 'on top', not 'on bottom'.. not my words. :)

I washed with a strong solution, as I didn't believe any lsp was still left; I wanted to make sure that I had 'fresh' paint.

If your lsp is strong, and your upkeep is solid, try hydro2 over it. :props:

Polish and re-apply.

It's not been a priority for me, so nothing's been done to the Escape as of yet.

Excellent points about application, thank you for the 1:6 note. :xyxthumbs:

I'll try to snap a quick phone pick if this rain continues, to show the performance.

What will be the surprise to most is that I've not washed the cars but once since that weekend. washed, not detailed.

*WHAT*?!?!?!! but, but, but, you're on a detailing forum?!?!? don't you know that's HERESY!!!??

:)

Aside from personal life and working, coupled with the stellar weather on my 'free' days, there's not been much time to tend to the cars (sad).

BUT - the beautiful thing is, they are not that dirty at all. May be another testament to Hydro2 (and good LSP's in general). The rain seems to lift off any dust that has settled, and there does not seem to be as much road grime as usual.

*shrug*

I agree that Hydro2 is a great product and easy to apply. I did a RV In the spring and it, as well, is still beading when washed. I tested on the RV because it was big, wanted some uv protection and I am lazy when it comes to that big of an area.

I applied it in the shade and used the master blaster for drying and had no issues. I believe this is a good product for people in a hurry and that don't want to wax thier vehicles all the time. One key thing is don't try to apply anything on top of it. The manufacturer said "it does not like it and nothing good comes of it."
