Just recently ordered the meguiars MF pads to try.

Used it on half a hood and decided it did not finish well so put it away.

Went to wash it few hours later and it started falling apart. I was just rinsing it under the water. Didn't even rub it.

The same happened with a set of Optimum MF pads I bought last year.

There are so many rave reviews on MF pads.. Do people just replace them after each car?

I'm using them on a Porter DA at around speed 5. Light to medium pressure. Brushing the pad ever 2x2 section and allowing the machine and pad to cool down every pass.

I also have an orange lake country flat pad I used last week that completely self destructed in the wash. It's brand new and I used it on a test panel for about 2 minutes.
It came out of the wash in 2 pieces. The velcro and the pad... Would you say defective?

What is the course of action in situations like this?

I bought all of them from Autogeek. Do I contact Autogeek or do I contact the manufacturers? Do I give up on MF pads? Why does everyone love them?

No doubt about that!! Try a couple of the Lake Country MF pads. I have some that have compounded 20 cars or more. Then I have a few Meg's MF pads that have done the same. I've had both brands come out of the bag delaminating, but I think Lake Country has got a handle on that issue now.

Yep. I've already got some on hand. I'll try out the LCs the next time I decide to use MF. Hopefully they do better. I do notice they seem to shed alot. Just from looking at them.

I actually tried the Meguiars MF on the recommendation that they do not de-laminate. So kind of disappointing that they do so literally out of the bag.

Eric @ Lake Country is sending me replacements for the pads. Great customer service from LC and another reason why I still continue to use LC over the others as my go-to pad. And because they honestly last longer.

I use them side by side to the B&S and the LCs just last longer..

Should I call meguiars or autogeek regarding the MF pads?

meguiars rep forwarded me to a mailbox -__-

Emailed Optimum and they told me to talk to the supplier.

Recently received LC MF pads and wow... there were tons of shedding straight out of the bag. But after a wash, no shedding at all.

I have never had a Meguiars MF pad delaminate on me. The older version of the pads did turn egg shaped on me though. I have used a pair of the new version made in the US and they have been outstanding. They've been used on 30+ cars and are still going strong.

I use CG optical and black optic pads and never had a problem with them. I know Car Pro has MF pads that look like the CG one's and are cheaper.

It's strange because I bought them through a recommendation. My friend used his MF pads for over 10 cars without a problem.

My pad lasted half a hood and a cold water rinse. Not cheap pads either...
