I haven't seen much talk about them on here. What do you guys think of them? Are they bad for the paint?

I think the original "California Car Duster" works great as long as its used properly.

I use it on my black car to remove light dust, always following it with a detail spray, and haven't had any issues with scratching.

I shake it out after every pass before making my next pass, and I always wrap it in the plastic it came in and store it in the bag.

Do not use it for anything more than very light dust and you'll be fine.

I have used the California duster before it works ok, the other one called the pacific duster just sucks badly, I bought it just to get off light dust, and it left red lil hairs all over the car, i even washed it after that to see if it would help it, i followed the directions and still left lil red hairs on the car, so i just stop using the dusters and stuck with microfiber towels and detailing spray.

Just the topic made me cringe a little.

In my view id avoid like the plague...

I personally dont like to push dirt around encouraging marring of the paint as it eventually layers itself over and over on each stand of the duster

. Id rather remove it by lubricating it with a QD and using a clean surface of a MF towel to capture it off of the paints surface

they have a nice static charge and you barely have to touch your paint with it..just glides over the surface. plus you can wash them so after a while if you feel its getting dirty a quick wash and its like new.
