I just started detailing the single stage black paint on my 2003 Chevy Cavalier and Ultimate Polish on the black (and the white) LC flat pad is leaving DA trails and severe marring.

Wondering what everyone would recommend as a finishing polish to remedy this. I'm looking for something that is less than $25.

Thanks.

That paint must be soft since its a single stage, blue LC pads and menzerna 4500 might work better. Also try polishing with faster movement than your normal and also lessen the pressure.

Good luck:xyxthumbs:

Yeah, it's scary soft. Unfortunately I don't want to spend $45 on a polish, but thanks for the suggestion and tips.

I use Wolfgang Finishing Glaze and a black LC finishing pad to produce a mirror like finish on my single stage Toyota black.

Ditto what spiral said. WG Finishing Glaze is an amazing product for single stage black paint. Works equally well on base coat/clear coat paints too. I use it on a LC black pad.

Two votes for WG? Guess I'll give WG Finishing Glaze a go.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.
