Repaired a deep scratch from a bike handle bar on the rear fender, this panel has been repainted before, I spotted some fish eyes and dust in the clear, and could tell from the how thick the paint was from the deep scratch (much thicker than factory). So I knew I could go pretty aggressive with it. I used heavy compound orange hybrid lc pad with my 3401 for a base line. The 2 scratches furthest to the front of the vehicle were down to metal. I used factory touch up, and built up layers to match surrounding paint. I then used 1500, 2000, and compounded the touch up paint. After the base coat I applied factory top coat, and hit it with 1500 2000 and compound. The results are shown in the third picture they are the 2 lighter spots in the paint. I think the results were pretty good! For the rest of the scratches I hit them with 2000, and then compound to finish out the panel. I haven't polished the panel yet because I am detailing the complete exterior. Ill post picks of the completed job when I am done.
