Hey guys, two years ago-ish I did my VW GLI with Opti-Coat. I used two applications and this is how much I have remaining:

Is this enough to do a 2013 Lancer Evolution X? I would like to do two applications again, however I am unsure if I have enough.

Thanks pros!

I use about 5oz per car. From that pic it doesn't look like that you purged the air at the top after using.

I can still take the top off and get product out.

That is not the point. You should get the air out of the syringe. If you got the air out, you would know how much product you have left without estimating.

If you take the air out of the syringe you will get a more accurate reading. It looks like you have a little less then 10cc which should be enough to do a full size car including wheels.

Cfarley, How's the coating holding up on the GLI? And what did you use for maintenance?

Chris at optimum says that you should use about 10cc of opti coat for a standard size car. I would say that 5-10cc is going to get you what I need

It was alright. It was my DD so it still needed claying after about a year and I actually had some rail dust stick to the OC as well.

For maintenance I just did washes, nothing special. I would recommend getting some Iron-X and using that every 6 mo or so as well as feeling if it needs clay.

The first vehicle I did over a year ago took 5cc. I freaked out over having using so little so I called Optimum. Dr. G called me back and assured me that so long as I covered everything, I was fine. He said there was no real benefit to putting it on thick. I see that some people do and get good results but I still go kinda thin so as not to get high spots.

You should get at least a car out of what you have left.
